Chestnut honey is harvested from the wild chestnut trees growing at high altitude in the mountains of Arcadia. The bees collect nectar and honeydew by the wild flowers and leaves of the wild chestnut. Its colour varies from light brown to dark black, depending on which part of the plant it comes from. It has unique strong taste and the aroma of a blooming chestnut forest. It is distinguished by its high nutritional value, as it contains a large amount of pollen, many vitamins and amino acids, and almost twice as much trace minerals, compared to other varieties of honey.
